Kazimierz is a historical district of Kraków. Founded in 1335 by King Kazimierz the Great, was an independent city till 1791. For many centuries, Kazimierz was a place of coexistence of Christian and Jewish cultures. Today Kazimierz is one of the best tourist attractions of Krakow with old synagogues, oldest Jewish cementery, The Corpus Christi Basilica and many more architectural monuments. Kazimierz district is also a great place for lunch or dinner where you can try one of many fantastic restaurants serving international and Jewish cuisine.
